We all had the Pleasure to attend hospice for sick kids "Darling Home for Kids" and contribute our time to cook meals for staff and kids. It is a special place for children who need 24 hour care. It has touched our hearts in a way we cannot express. Serving others helped us understand true values of life. It filled us with happiness and joy. We prepared A LOT of food that the children and staff are able to eat. We made Mac N Cheeseburger Casserole, Shepard's Pie and Tatiana prepared a special treat for the front-line staff (Crepes) they were delicious. Special Thanks to Tom for encouraging us to participate in such an AWESOME event and Thanks to Tatiana for finding this amazing special place :)

Quantify Your Accomplishments With the amount of information available about resume-writing, its not always easy for job-seekers to know what works and what doesnt. One of the biggest resume-writing mistakes we see as a supply chain and logistics recruitment firm are resumes that list duties and responsibilities but fail to display accomplishments and achievements. This is a big mistake, particularly in the data-driven world of supply chain! A good resume should accomplis...h two things: it should get you the interview, and it should guide the interview. A hiring manager should see a close enough match in the resume to bring you in for an interview, and there should be enough substance in the resume to lead to enable the interviewer to ask questions about how you managed to accomplish the things you have mentioned. Under the Work Experience section of your resume, sprinkle in a few points saying what impact your work had on the business. Did your efforts lead to improved service times? An improvement in inventory accuracy? Measurable improvements in employee engagement? Mentioning the $ savings or the % improvements you made will increase the likelihood that you will be brought in for an interview. Resume screeners look for candidates who made a positive impact rather than maintaining status quo. Quantifying your accomplishments and achievements can also lead to a more in-depth and productive interview. Rather than the interviewer asking basic clarifying questions, they may jump straight to more detailed questions about how you saved $ or made the % improvements shown on your resume. One final tip: dont create a separate section for accomplishments! Employers and recruiters want to know when and where you made those achievements, so leave them under the relevant section of your work experience. I hope this tip helps you write a resume that more prominently displays your accomplishments and achievements so you can get the interview and land your dream job. Good luck!

My One Biggest Interview Prep Tip If I could only suggest one piece of advice to someone preparing for a job interview, it would be this: research the opportunity. This means checking out the company, learning as much you can about the job itself, finding out about the companys competitors, their history, their future, the industry in which they operate. Go on LinkedIn and find out all you can about the people youre going to be meeting with, other people who work for the... company, and perhaps even calling a couple of people at the company. Use that research to prepare questions about the company and about the job. Find out what the problem is that theyre looking to solve by hiring someone for this role. If you can first understand what the gap is theyre looking to fill, and then effectively present yourself as the solution to their problems, they will hire you. Most job-seekers prepare for their interview by preparing and rehearsing answers to questions that may never be asked. Try this approach instead and see what happens. Good luck!

Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person the gift of life. A decision to donate your blood can save a life, or even several if your blood is separated into its components red cells, platelets and plasma which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions. A key staff member at SCL Search celebrated his birthday on September 20th, and he asked that we, as an office, make the effort to donate blood as a team, which we did on September 21st, 2016. It was a surprisingly great experience which brought the team together, knowing that we had done something important for our community. #itsinyoutogive
