Poster Design by Melony Menard! We were supposed to open Doubt, A Parable, by John Patrick Shanley, on March 19, 2020, at TAP Centre for Creativity here in London, ON. We didn't. You know why. That is in the past now. The last time the company was together, in the same room, was the evening of Thursday, March 12th, at our rehearsal hall.... https://scooterdotproductions.wordpress.com//we-shall-ret/

Arthur Rimbaud famously wrote: The poet, therefore, is truly the thief of fire. I have always liked this quotation; it seems to me to be an accurate description of the role of an artist in society. The creative spark, that fire, is the catalyst for literature, art, dance, music, and theatre. By its nature, theatre is ephemeral, it is in the moment.... https://scooterdotproductions.wordpress.com//fiery-thieves/

What is Scooter Productions? We strive to present high quality live theatre for the Greater London area. We produce plays with a social conscience, dealing with issues that are of public concern and debate. We also support and encourage all of the performing arts in this area. Formed in 2017, we have produced or co-produced three plays. "Penguin Blues", by Ethan Phillips, had two productions, the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018, at Procunier Hall and Fringe HQ respectively. "...Addicted", written and performed by Raven Dauda, was presented at McManus Stage at the Grand in early 2018. "The Woolgatherer", by William Mastrosimone, was staged at TAP in August, 2019. All of these plays were very well reviewed and supported by the community. The founding members of Scooter Productions are: Phil Cal, Heather Rivet, Brian Speagle, and Sherine Thomas-Holder. Promoting (let's be honest, selling!) live theatre is a challenge at the best of times. Promoting it in the middle of a pandemic is just silly, really. Yet, I t...hink it's still important to let our audience know that we're still out here, chomping at the bit. That we are aching just to see each other, to be in the same room, and to share our work. This has been tough on everyone, and everyone has a Covid-19 story. Scooter Productions and 'Doubt, A Parable' were TWO days away from moving into TAP in March 2020. It was heart-breaking. But compared to the burdens other good people have had to endure, and still do, it is pretty minor. We remain optimistic that we will stage our play as soon as it is safe to do so. We look forward to seeing our friends and sharing our art. Cheers, Brian See more

We should be getting ready for our Friday night performance of "Doubt, A Parable", but we're not. The audience should be sitting down to their pre-show dinner, ...anticipating sharing some theatre with us, but they're not. Yes, this sucks. It is, to be honest, quite devastating. However, this current situation goes well beyond any self-pity I may be feeling. We're all in the same boat, and it's important that we all be rowing in the same direction. Some people still are not getting it. Please, practice physical distancing. Wash your hands. A lot. It's been one week. We have a long road ahead, but getting this thing under control will be worth it. Our show will go up, one day, maybe not right away, but it will happen. So will your show, and yours. Life will slowly return, but hopefully with a new appreciation of how fragile our world is. There are still so many ways to communicate without being in physical proximity. Use them, please. Don't isolate yourself spiritually. Love, Peace, and Cheers, Brian See more

Our next Scooter Production, "Doubt, A Parable" is now officially postponed. Our venue, TAP Centre for Creativity, just announced that they "will be postponing theatre events to decrease the risk of exposure to audience, performers, staff, and volunteers." Together with TAP, Scooter Productions will be working to present this show when the imminent threat of the spread of this virus is acceptably contained, and no longer presents a threat to the public. If you have already purchased tickets, you will be hearing from TAP soon about how to proceed. We hope to see you soon!
