Tonight, I will be joining with Holocaust survivors and members from all parties in a virtual candle-lighting for International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Never forget.
One of my favourite January traditions is joining with constituents to celebrate Robbie Burns, Scotland's "Immortal Bard," who was born on January 25th. This year, the lockdown makes it impossible to gather. But for those of us who are healthy, it is easier this year than ever before to truly appreciate the words of Burns' Selkirk Grace: Some hae meat an canna eat, And some wad eat that want it; But we hae meat, and we can eat,... And sae the Lord be thankit. Meantime, our office is open throughout the lockdown. Contact us at: [email protected] or call my office at 1-866-277-1577.
Robyn and I want to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Theresa Fritz. Bless. https://www.facebook.com//a.2621837771768/3711335582261642
In the spirit of the Christmas season, here is my annual update on the classic poem, The Night Before Christmas.
Our Veterans deserve our thanks, not just on Remembrance Day, but every day for their service, for their sacrifice, and for everything they have given in service of our country and their fellow Canadians. This year’s Remembrance Day ceremonies will look different due to the pandemic. Canadians are encouraged to pay their respects by participating in a doorstep remembrance at 11am.
My office purchased masks for our volunteers who will be laying wreaths on Remembrance Day.
