Team Captains, Member and Observers: These are certainly unprecedented times that we have been dealing with for the past 3 months, and we are glad to see the slow progress back to normalcy. First, we want to apologize for the delay in making an announcement but we have been closely monitoring the developments of the COVID-19, and waiting as long as we could to evaluate the potential impact to the upcoming Scotty King of Kings Spring Tournament. Despite the eagerness that mos...t of us feel with respect to getting out on the water and competing in a fishing tournament, at this time we do not feel that we can organize an event while still maintaining the overall intent of the Federal, Provincial and Municipal COVID-19 guidelines and protecting the safety and public health of tournament participants and spectators. As a result, unfortunately we are unable to proceed with the 2020 Scotty King of Kings Spring Tournament. For those teams that have already paid their entry fee we will be refunding 100% of the registration fee. Regarding the 2020 Scotty King of Kings Summer Tournament, we remain hopeful that we will continue to make progress towards achieving normalcy and that Federal, Provincial and Municipal guidelines are eased to the point that we can safely organize and run the Summer Tournament. We would also like to announce that given the cancellation of the Spring Tournament and in an effort to give as many of the spring teams the opportunity to fish a competitive tournament in 2020, we will be slightly changing the format of the 2020 Summer Event by 1) opening up the tournament field to 50 teams and 2) reducing the entry fee to $1,000/team, with an entirely optional $1,000 calcutta for those teams looking to compete for a higher prize payout. We feel that with almost 60 days between now and the proposed August 1, 2020 Tournament date we can continue to make progress in this pandemic, and are optimistic and excited about being able to host the 2020 Scotty Fishing Products King of Kings Summer Tournament in a safe and responsible manner. As of June 5, 2020 we will be accepting registration fees for the Summer Tournament, and in the event we are unable to host the tournament, we will be refunding 100% of registration fees. We continue to hope that you and your families stay safe and well through this unprecedented period and we look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Hopefully everyone is staying safe and keeping well. We have had a few inquiries regarding the 2020 Scotty King of Kings Tournament Series. Given the uncertain times we are dealing with, we are very hopeful that the current situation will resolve itself in the very near future and we are able to fish on June 20th-if not we will have much more important things to deal with than fishing! We have received registrations from a number of teams already and want to advise that given the uncertainty upon us, we will be extending the original payment deadline for registration from April 1st to May 15th. If for whatever reason the event has to be cancelled, a full refund will be provided to participating teams. Stay safe and looking forward to seeing everyone in June!
