TRUST THE JOURNEY This first picture bring up all the feels. It was 2010, newly separated and a single mom, I was at my heaviest weight ever. I was exhausted... all the time and had no energy, hungry all the time no matter what or how much I ate and depressed. Little did I know at the time, I was just months away from starting a healing journey that would change everything. What I did know was that tiny, little boy meant the world to me. I knew I had to not only be strong for him, but healthy too. He was my motivation. It all started with a book. At a friend’s urging, I read The Secret. My mindset and outlook started to change as I focused on the things I was grateful for instead of all the things I felt were going wrong. I wrote them down in a journal... EVERY. DAY. Then I focused on my physical health by making changes to my diet and exercise. I completely threw myself into it and it paid off, I lost 60+ pounds and felt amazing. For the first time in a long time, I had energy again and could keep up with a growing toddler! However, working out 2+ hours a day and continually cutting calories was not sustainable and caused other imbalances in my health. (If only I knew then what I know now!) There have been so many ups + downs and twists in the road along the way since then. I’ll be honest, even now some days I feel defeated, like I will never reach a goal. It’s far too easy to find yourself comparing your journey to someone else’s and thinking you’ll never get there but the reality is our journeys are our own and we need to trust the process. We all start at different places, but the important part is that we start! When I feel like I am behind or that it’s too late, I remind myself that I didn’t just start. I realize now that this healing journey began 8+ years ago, and I am so thankful that it did, because I have come a long way since then. It’s not always perfect. I still have days that I struggle with emotional eating, or days I look in the mirror and see that before picture. BUT those days are much fewer. The journey never really ends, it keeps evolving as we keep growing. I’ve spent 8+ years peeling back the layers and digging deeper to find myself. I don’t even know that person in the first picture anymore, but I’d like to thank her for having the courage to start the journey that got me where I am today. Where are you on your journey and how can I support you? I am opening up 5 spots for a free health breakthrough session. Message me today if you're interested in grabbing one before they are gone! WINTER WELLNESS TIP #1 It seems this time of year, I hear a lot of people complain about constantly getting sick. Keeping our immune system in tip top shape is... super important! If you, or your kids struggle at this time of year, lean in for a second. 4 years ago, my kiddo had over 12 sick days! Want to know my secret to drastically reducing that number? On Guard! Rolled on his feet before school and before bed daily, helps keep germs at bay and his immune system protected. We love to diffuse it too. Breathe comes in handy for those days we're feeling a little congested and stuffed up. I also love it for keeping the airways open during workouts or when you're sleeping with a snorer . I consider these two our Wellness Warriors . Have any winter wellness secrets to share? I'd love to hear them. P.S. I'm offering a free bottle of Breathe when you purchase On Guard. Message me to grab yours!
