Ticks are still active! This is an engorged tick that was removed from a cat. Cats that spend time outdoors should be on a tick prevention medication. Please ask us about medications that are safe for use in cats.

Meet Dr. Molly Van Camp, our newest addition to Scugog Animal Hospital! Molly grew up here in Port Perry and has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a child. She attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia for her undergraduate degree in Biology followed by a year in Kentucky working as a nutrition and exercise physiology intern at Kentucky Equine Research. She spent the last 5 years studying Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the University of Glasgow in Scot...land, where she had opportunities to travel to South Africa, Thailand and Morocco to gain more experience in the veterinary field. Molly has 2 cats of her own who have travelled all over with her, and spends most of her spare time at the barn with her horse Caspar. She is very excited to be back in her hometown to practice veterinary medicine and looks forward to meeting all her new patients and clients! See more

Hello everyone! Sorry we have not been super active on facebook lately! It has been a very busy summer! We hope you are all doing well and keeping cool in the unusual heat! We wanted to thank you for the nomination! We are always happy to help you and your pets! It has been hard to always fit everyone in this summer but we try our hardest! Our vets and support staff have been working all summer with few breaks like many other clinics and other business' have been this yea...r! We would like to invite you to vote on the Readers Choice website. There is also an option to vote for your favourite individual vet as well! Please show all your favourite places and peaople some love! This year everyone use the complement! Thank you all for your continued support and understanding! Hopefully we can have you in the clinic again soon! Many clinics are hesitant due to the fact that we work very closely and do not want to have to close for 2 weeks quarantine! Enjoy the rest of your summer with your furry loved ones! Thank goodness they have been there for us during all of this!

How great do we feel when we drop a few extra pounds! You pets feel it too! This is a great post to help show what these pets should look like in regard to weight. Note the obvious tuck in the abdomen. Very well done post! A healthy weight supports a healthy dog! Their joints will thank you and they will be less likely to develop other health issues!

Regarding Nails This is in effort to reduce traffic in to the clinic, to ensure we can serve you as quick as possible and that our clients and staff are protected. We are still working on reduced hours and staffing. Groomers are opening up at this time and may be able to get you an appointment for nails. We are extremely busy at this time and are placing priority on ensuring emergencies are taken care of! ... We want to be able to help all of our clients with emergencies when they need us! Thank you again Scugog Animal Hospital Team

Scugog Animal Hospital 22.06.2020

Good morning! We would like to take a moment to remind our clients that at this time we are extremely busy. We appreciate your patience very much! We have been seeing a high volume of calls since COVID started as most things are done over the phone right now and will continue to be this way for now. We only have 2 incoming lines and we are working to answer calls and emails as quick as possible! Our suppliers are doing a great job keeping us stocked and able to fill orders.... Please if you leave a message OR email us. We will see it! Emailing and calling multiple times will NOT get things done faster and in fact slows us down unfortunately. If you could give us a couple days to get your medications ready as the doctor you see may not be in every day to refill your medications immediately and we are very busy. Please let us know if you do need to pick up flea/tick/HW prevention. Our email for orders is [email protected] Please include as much info as possible! Name Drug/food name Tablet/capsule/liquid Amount Dose giving, how frequently How is your pet doing?! Thank you! Have a great week. Scugog Animal Hospital Team

Scugog Animal Hospital 16.06.2020

We thank you again for your patience, our phones have been very busy as this is our main way to connect to you. If you need to contact us by phone, please wait a few minutes and try again or leave a message and we will get back to you. To place a product order please email us at: [email protected] ... Please include as much info as possible, type of medication, pill, liquid, tablet, how many you are giving, how many times a day, how much you need, etc. With food orders please be specific of which size, and specify if it says anything like 'small dog', 'large breed' 'flavour' 'pate' Take care! Its that time of year! Ticks are out in full force. Anytime the weather is above 4 C we have a chance of seeing ticks! The weather is definitely warm enough and we are hearing of clients seeing ticks!! Ticks are carriers of Lyme disease and can be a threat to dogs and humans! Please call or email us and we can make sure we have the right products ready for your pet! ... Note: We are accepting Visa/MC and etransfer only right now. Pick up out front of our doors between 8-5, closed Saturdays.

Scugog Animal Hospital 09.05.2020
