Astounding deadstock document on early avant-garde cinema from 1934! Experimental Cinema No. 5 magazine from 1934 now in stock!
"Shelly Pearse`s piece is billed as house but to my ears it shimmies and shakes more like ON-U Sound a raw, stripped back, 808 meeting of recently sadly departed Duke Boottee`s Beauty & The Beat, Keith Le Blanc, and Tackhead. Its BPMs barely reaching the mid-90s, with pummeling drum programming slugging it out with slow motion italo riffs, and poor Shelly disembodied and reduced to an echo. " Dr. Rob / Ban Ban Ton Ton Available now! Pre-order links in comments.

Much thanks to Prïncess Demeny, Aquarium Drunkard and Jesse Locke for this wonderful interview and for spreading the word of our upcoming 7" release and sharing her rarely seen video for its title track. "Princess Demeny’s work in various mediums transmutes tragedy into beautiful expressions of the surreal. In the late 1980s, the Montréal poet, filmmaker, painter, and musician met producer Jean Mineau, who shepherded the creation of her first demos shortly before passing awa...y from cancer. This led to Demeny’s collaboration with new wave group Vini Vidi Vici, who joined the re-recording of her signature song New York Grief, an aching invocation from the school of Julee Cruise and Angelo Badalament. Its rarely seen 1990 music video pairs stylish fashions with stunning choreography, while serving as a monument to another late member of Demeny’s inner circle, the dancer Garth Johnston." See more
