A sky-high sales-to-new listings ratio (at 0.77 nationwide in December) provides further confirmation that sellers hold a strong hand when it comes to setting prices. This is the case almost everywhere in the country. Home prices are rising at a faster and faster clip: The rate of increase in Canada’s aggregate MLS Home Price Index more than doubled over the past six months to 13.0% y/y in December.
