Emily entered Family Stepping Stones program at @kamloopsefry just over 2 months ago. She became homeless here in Kamloops while she was 6 months pregnant. I had little to no support and was in desperate need of a home for me and the baby on the way. says Emily. Feeling hopeless because I had no where to go, I ended up at the shelter, but I knew this was only a temporary solution Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society is the only agency in town providing long-ter...m support to women like Emily. Other shelters in town are short-term and although wonderful to have, people using the shelters often become homeless, after their short stay there. Other long-term supportive housing programs are a mixed gender and do not allow children. Thanks to Family Stepping Stones program Emily is able to look after her baby and get the individual unique support pursuing her dream of moving onto independent living together with her child. EFry looks after mothers like Emily, but our role in continuing helping this program is HUGE. We need your support to continue our mission of helping mothers and children fleeing domestic violence: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/53699 #GivingTuesdayCa #givingback #kamloops #kamloopsbc #kamloopsefry #ykastrong #kindnessmatters #philantropy #makingadifference #donatenow #help #love #actsofkindness #dogoodfeelgood #socialgood #givebacktothecommunity #helppeople #nonprofitsofinstagram #helponeanother

An INSURANCE POLICY for the Brain - we use the Canadian, award-winning program, Brain FX to assess for cognitive baselines for athletes, those over 55 years of age, and anyone experiencing cognitive or neurological issues. Then, if life changes drastically, we can compare the baseline results to new results and develop Cognitive Rehabilitation Plans to reverse or slow brain deficits. What do CONTACT SPORTS, AGING, and MENTAL ILLNESS have in common? They all affect BRAIN FUNCTION. CONTACT SPORTS can lead to concussion or head injury. BASELINE testing now, with re-testing after an injury, give our Occupational Therapists the data they need to create a cognitive rehabilitation plan. Each plan is customized, because it depends upon the areas and severity of the injury. ... AGING can lead to changes in cognitive function. BASELINE testing now, with re-testing when changes are noticed, give our Occupational Therapists the information they need to provide a treatment and accommodations plan. Each plan is customized, according to the severity and area of the brain showing change. MENTAL ILLNESS can slow cognitive processes. BASELINE testing before and after medication change can determine efficacy, and allow our Occupational Therapists to develop treatment plans. Each plan is customized, using activities and accommodations to enhance cognitive function. FMI: 1-250-314-0377 x215, [email protected] or www.SeasonsHealth.ca Photo by: robina weermeijer-unsplash
