Saunas relieve stress. The heat in the sauna helps us to relax and regulates the level of cortisol in our blood. Cortisol is the hormone that is released when we’re stressed, and too high levels of cortisol can lead to a number of health issues such as problems with the immune system and with sleeping. Sauna bathing reduces the levels of cortisol in our blood, and instead it stimulates the production of serotonin. Serotonin is our happy hormone that makes us feel good.
Heat suggested as a therapeutic intervention in COVID-19 It is a good choice to using sauna room at certain temperature to be away from ill Viruses that are contained within a lipid membrane or enveloped viruses such as coronaviruses and rhinoviruses can remain active for long periods in cool, dry conditions, which can lead to increased rates of respiratory infections.... However, these viruses, which include severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) are sensitive to heat, and temperatures tolerable to humans, can be enough to destroy the lipid envelope and deactivate them. Heat is also often used to deactivate the viruses included in vaccines, with temperatures of 55 to 65C having been shown to inactivate various types of enveloped viruses, including coronaviruses.
Saunas improve overall health, wellness and performance. Not surprisingly, sauna bathers most frequently cite stress reduction as the number one benefit of sauna use. Medical studies often determine that stress in our daily lives can negatively affect our health. In fact, the vast majority of disease (e.g. heart disease) is at least partially stress-related. Heat bathing in a sauna provides stress relief in a number of ways. It’s a warm, quiet space without any distractions coming from the outside. As we like to say, "Step into a Finnleo sauna, and close the door on the rest of the world." The heat from the sauna relaxes the body's muscles, improves circulation and stimulates the release of endorphins. Endorphins are the body’s all-natural "feel good" chemical, and their release provides a truly wonderful "after sauna glow.
Some reputed benefits have not been examined, but there is evidence that saunas may speed recovery from colds and reduce their occurrence. Some researchers suspect sauna heat reduces symptoms because it improves drainage, while others speculate that the high temperatures help weaken cold and flu viruses
Using Sauna is always a good choice to be away from illness such as SARS, COVID -19. Heat applied to the whole body can further support the immune system’s second line of defence by mimicking fever and activating innate and acquired immune defences and building physiological resilience.
