Bet you didn't know that #bamboo releases 30% more oxygen compared to an equivalent mass of trees. Known as one of the world's fastest-growing trees, it'll reach full maturity in 1-5 years. Why is it considered a #renewable resource? Because when bamboo is harvested, it will continue to grow shoots from its amazing root system. Photo: @culturalcuchie

They may grow up to 20 meters high, but the Florida Torreya is critically endangered. They're known as the stinking yew because it gives off a turpentine odor when crushed. Not a reason for them to lose their habitat. The Torreya has seen a 98% decline in the last 3 generations. Fewer than 600 individual trees remain. If you support reforesting projects, please share or click www.secondbind.com to see how we're helping. Will you help us plant more trees?

It is mainly endemic to #SmythCounty, in the state of Virginia, and still listed as critically #endangered. We hope the comeback encourages you to support tree conservation and planting to maintain the earth's biodiversity! #TreeTuesday... #fever_trees #forestmagic #forestlover #foresterculture #talltrees See more

Their seeds are cones and get dispersed by the wind. When they grow, they look like clumps of needle grass - the real work is underground. Their roots will start at 12 ft long before they extend in height. ... #TreeTuesday
