It is with great pleasure to announce that we have added Ms. Hailey Crockford to our coaching staff here at SCR! ... Here are a few words from Hailey; Hi everyone! My name is Hailey Crockford and I am looking forward to teaching a little bit out of Second Chance Ranch to their lesson students! Here’s a little bit of information about myself I am a very strong believer that when you put the work in, you will see results. I have barrel raced all over Ontario for quite a few years in NBHA, OBRA, and Rodeos. I have attended NBHA World Champions in Georgia USA, and also have gone to Australia to represent Canada at an international barrel race in 2019. I also have training experience with young horses and horses that just need a refresher. I look forward to working and riding with all of you! PM/Comment to book a spot before they fill up! At this time Hailey will be taking on students who are at an intermediate/advanced level. Haileys lessons will be run slightly different than our usual lessons. Good morning Equestrian! Unfortunately there is nothing to update in our industry with the new "Stay At Home Order" The regulations remain the same..... Barns may remain open to owners, leasees and part-boarders BUT lessons may not continue (regardless of if you own the horse or not) I realize some townships are getting different variations on what they will and will not allow so please ask your local bylaw officers for clarification. *Greater Sudbury and Clearview Township both have said NO to any riding lessons* Your own research is encouraged! But bylaw are the ones who have the power to enforce the fines, so therefore, they are you're best bet for answers. Stay home. Stay healthy

ATTENTION all riders at SCR Please make note that we have had to create a temporary electric fence line at the main gate as Rowdy and Bessy are taking advantage of a low fence line beside the gate. Until the snow/ground thaws and we are able to fix this fence line please be cautious as this line is LIVE. ... Simply take the handle off to open/close the gate and make sure you put it back when you leave. Please do not feed the horses treats at this gate for the time being. Please use another area of the fence line. Thank you.

Unfortunately with the news of the lockdown being extended...lessons are still on hold. Thank you all for having patience with the ongoing uncertainty. We can’t thank you enough for the support we have received during the times we have been allowed to be open this year. Even with having to be shut down a good portion of the year...it has been an amazing year here at SCR. Leasing students are continued to be allowed to come out to exercise and care for their mounts.... These shutdowns take a toll on many of our small local businesses, but it’s because of our loyal riders and families we are able to make it. I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and look forward to being able to start lessons up again. We have quite a few ponies out here missing their riders! -Kathryn

We will have more lesson slots available after the provincial shut down. All lesson slots from December will be forwarded into the new schedule, so if you already had a reserved spot...that spot is still yours. Stay tuned!

If our district is able to open up on January 16th; lessons will resume starting then. The lesson schedule that was released in January will carry forward. If there is anyone who is on the January schedule who can no longer hold their spot please let me know. Anyone else who is interested in lessons please contact me as soon as possible as time slots will be limited until the days get longer. ... Fingers crossed we can get our riders back in the saddle soon!

Ella is all smiles after receiving some barn attire for one of her Christmas gifts! Barn logo, barrel racing, riders name and horse of choosing! In her case she has been growing and learning on Benny. Love seeing these smiles!

Important announcement Lessons will now be CASH ONLY. Please do not e transfer for your lessons/trail rides. ... Payment will be due at the time of the lessons or before. (Pre pay for a few in advance). Unfortunately I am constantly chasing people for owed lessons and non payment has occurred on multiple occasions. Due to this reason and glitches in e-transfer sometimes we will no longer be accepting e transfers.
