Portraits - my first love with photography! I have been capturing individual portraits since I was 12 and I have loved it ever since. When I became a wedding photographer, I had to step away from portraits a bit since I got so busy, but I’m so happy to still be offering portrait sessions! A and me went out to Royal Roads for some moody boho portraits and I’m so in love with the result. My favourite part about portrait sessions is the boost of confidence my clients get. FEELING INSPIRED and ready to take on this jam packed year I got ahead of me, time really does fly by when you’re having fun - and days like this are really freaking fun. There’s nothing quite like creating art with friends and this day was full of love and teamwork. After so many obstacles were thrown our way - we did the damn thing. Reminder again to all that need to hear it: your love is never cancelled. To be truthful, elopements have always been my most favourite passio...n and I’m overjoyed that many couples have felt inspired to join the just hitched crew in an intimate + safe way. It’s so easy to get so caught up in the bad things going on in the world, but we gotta remember the good too, friends. There’s a whole lot of it! Editing away today and then tackling some packing tomorrow - oh, the moving life is an interesting one alright. After it’s all set and done, I’m going to have a bright brand spanking new place to work in and I can’t wait. Not to mention, I’m going to have the pitter patter of puppy paws all around my new place so that just makes everything better. Anyone want a little fur friend to meet along with their photoshoot!? This session was such a refreshing way to start out my new year. It was pouring rain but we did it anyway and it was so worth it, just like we knew it would be. Rain often cancels shoots but I want to really encourage my couples to just embrace it instead. The look that falling rain gives in photos is so beautifully moody and magical...especially on a lake. Watching the rain fall into the pool of water was so gorgeous and I’m so happy I got to capture it. Having weatherproof... equipment is one of my most important parts of my business. I don’t want any type of weather to slow us down, so I’m always ready for whatever you’re ready for. I’ve even shot in an absolute downpour before and while I had to wipe off my lens every few seconds, we still got the best photos! A little rain doesn’t hurt - and it actually looks pretty bomb in photos if I do say so myself. I absolutely LOVE when couples are loosey goosey and embrace rain as it comes. I mean, it is the west coast right!? Loving B + G’s session oh so much. These two embraced all the romantic Notebook vibes and danced in the rain on this not so gloomy day. Working lots behind the scenes today to wrap up a few of my first 2021 session galleries! This year is off to a wonderful start and I’m so excited to share it all with you! 2020 may be over, but this is still a vibe. Congrats to all of the couples out there getting married while following whatever restrictions are in place and proving how love still isn’t cancelled. This past year has been so tough on all of us, in all different ways, and this time will eventually pass! It may feel like it’s going to last forever, but it won’t.
