Just a day after we reposted a Toroto Star article about lax Canadian privacy laws, Trudeau rolls this out. Huzzah! Also, it's worth pointing out that Canada actually has a federal privacy law, unlike our friends and neighbours to the south.

Joseph Cox's reporting over at Vice gets better and better. Here's a fascinating story about how the military is slurping data from consumer apps, and why. One interesting snippet from a former employee at an app developer: "we could absolutely deanonymize a person," and employees would "play with it, to be honest." How often do we think this goes on? A lot more than people see, we suspect.
