Alarm permit fees. Effective January 1, 2017, the Calgary Police Service will begin charging alarm system users for permits, which will require an annual renewal. Permit and renewal fees are $15.00 for residential premises and $20.00 for commercial/financial premises. Renewal dates will be based on the month the permit was initially approved; renewals for any premises permitted prior to January 1, 2017, will start July 1, 2017. Alarm system users will be sent a renewal notification two months in advance of their renewal date. If the renewal notification and payment are not received by the indicated renewal date, the permit will automatically expire and the user will need to apply for a new permit.
