Seeds of Life 13.12.2020

As I write this it is snowing in Ancaster Ontario. However late last week I saw several fields of winter wheat in my area that are starting to "green up". A rem...inder that spring is just around the corner, and the miracle of growth will happen again. This year,at Seeds of Life, we will be growing soybeans. For those of you who are new friends, we are a totally volunteer organization. We ask donors to sponsor the cost of growing the crop and, after the crop is sold, we send the money we raise to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank to help our partners overseas fund relief and development projects. Truly a Christian Response to Hunger! Please check out our website seeds-of-life.ca , and follow us for updates. We get excited about our work as planting time approaches!

Seeds of Life is a small, Christian church based charity in Southern Ontario. We donate the use of our 72 acre farm to raise funds for relief and agricultural development projects overseas in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank .We are one of over 300 farmers in Canada who do this. Our motto is A Christian Response to Hunger. Each year our donors provide funds to grow a crop of grain on this farm. We sell the crop to a local buyer and send the proceeds to the Foodgrai...ns Bank. Member churches and agencies use these funds to operate food security projects overseas in co-operation with local partners. We are a totally volunteer organisation. We keep nothing back except for the cost of growing the crop. In 2016 we raised more than $45000 for this work. In most cases our donations are matched by the Government of Canada in amounts up to four to one. One of our projects in Malawi (Southeastern Africa) will teach conservation agriculture skills to 400 small farmers starting in 2017.These farmers are faced with extreme drought conditions due to climate change. They will learn sustainable ways of increasing crop yields, and improve the food security and nutrition of their families. We need your support to help our local partners do this work. In 2017 we are growing soybeans. Follow us for news as we get ready for spring planting. Please visit our websites, www.seeds-of-life.ca and www.foodgrainsbank.ca to learn more. Please help us END HUNGER !
