It states that financial institutions create complex products in an attempt to keep people like me employed. I would argue that this is so far from the truth. I would love to invest all my client's money into 1 product that gave them more than enough to fund retirement. Life doesn't work that way.... So this marks day 81 that my family and I have been "stuck at home". We realized the other day that 1) the kids have been off about as long as they are during summer break, and 2) ... Our spending has changed SO MUCH. No travel, no school trips, less eating out, no need for gas... Our bank account has a few more dollars in it than usual. ... There are 2 kinds of schools in the investment world: Passive and Active. Each has its merits and each one works.....until it doesn't... Case in point, March 2020. Passive investments have enjoyed a 10-year upward climb. During this time, advocates complained that active funds cost so much and provided little, if any, extra return. Then it all went down. Active funds were able to quickly make changes and bounce back in April 2020 (for the most part) and the passive guys are s...till waiting for the Global economy to get back on its feet.
