Finishing a ski day with Goat Face is hard to beat! Can you spot the Durrand Glacier Chalet on the right edge of the photo? We’re excited for our winter season to begin on December 28 The early season conditions in the Selkirks are incredible this year! #durrandglacier #selkirkmountainexperience

This is what it’s all about! Fly by helicopter into the Durrand Glacier Chalet and spend 7 days exploring our 24,000 acres of remote terrain. Our backcountry touring programs are a week long to give our guests the opportunity to be fully immersed in the mountain experience and have the opportunity to visit one or both of our hut to hut chalets. Seven days isn’t nearly enough to cover our terrain, but you have to start somewhere #durrandglacier #selkirkmountainexperience #jonesridereport

Tucked in for a January snow storm Here are two of the eight buildings in the Durrand Glacier village: the Beglinger home/guide’s meeting house and the shop. We also have a staff house, sauna building, snowblower house, hydro power house (which runs all seasons, providing us with 100% renewable and sustainable energy), wood shed, outhouse (it still stands, despite our new indoor plumbing system), and main chalet with 11 private bedrooms, large bathroom facility, reading room, drying room, boot room, clothing shop, dining room and professional kitchen. But that’s all beside the point. The 20+ feet of cumulative snow that falls on the buildings by January is what it’s all about! #durrandglacier #selkirkmountainexperience

Current snowpack measurement at the Durrand Glacier Chalet: 140cm. We flew up to the Durrand Glacier Chalet yesterday to check conditions. We can confirm, there is plenty of powder to be found It’s setting up to be a record early season! By January we’ll have a mid season snowpack. #durrandglacier #selkirkmountainexperience #jonesridereport

Winter has arrived in Revelstoke! Who else is out in the snow already? This is our guide @joeyvosburgh riding Jumping Jack last winter. Can it be done in January? Absolutely. It’s an amazing time of the year to ski all 50 of our steep, deep tree runs. Light snow, deep snowpack, colder temperatures, no sun effect on the south facing lines, less tricky layers in the snowpack. It doesn’t get better #durrandglacier #selkirkmountainexperience #jonesridereport
