The beginning of our year saw a lot of smiling dancers behind masks, and with the latest restrictions we’ve taken rehearsals online... but now we get to see the smiling faces without masks! Some of our Ensemble got together to catch up before we hit the rehearsal floor again and it was awesome! We heard ‘I’ve missed you!’ a few times, shared so many laughs, and just enjoyed each other’s company. We get it. After a long time away from dancing, some of us are itching to get back. On the other hand, some of us kind of liked the break and aren’t sure about returning. And some are nervous about how rehearsals will look in the different times we’re living through. Hannah, one of our instructors, cohosts a podcast (Vsi: The Ukrainian Dance and Culture Podcast) that talks all about her experiences living in Ukraine, Ukrainian dance, and culture. In one of their episodes, t...hey talk about why they Ukrainian dance (and why you should, too). The list could go on and on, but some of the points include physical activity, lifelong friendships, connecting with ancestors, and a conclusion that their lives simply wouldn’t be the same without it. We truly believe that Ukrainian dance is gateway to so many incredible opportunities and we want to continue opening those doors for our dancers, families, and audiences. We’re committed to high standards in teaching, and we’re adapting our ways with all of our creative juices to make sure this year is a positive one. Plus, we’re celebrating 35 years WOOHOO!
