Before the 6th SEMFA Council hands over the reins to the next set of officers tomorrow, we are pleased to welcome Fr. Edgardo Deligero of Christ Our Saviour Par...ish to the South Eastman region! Maligayang pagdating po! The Council's two years of community service are filled with highlights. The ones that come to mind are the dinner reception for Her Excellency Petronila Garcia, Philippine Ambassador to Ottawa, the historic debut of the Jeep ni Vickar at the 50th Steinbach Pioneer Day Parade, the founding of FILSIM - Filipino Senior Immigrants of Manitoba, and our inclusion in the 2019 Manitoba Filipino Street Festival board, the Philippine Heritage Council of Manitoba, Inc., and Embrace - Eastern Manitoba Broad Alliance for Cultural Enrichment. We are also proud to announce a whopping 151.7% net increase in our cash in bank as we turn over to the next Council. All these achievements were made possible through strategic partnerships with various organizations, the generous sponsorship of local kababayan businesses, and of course the tremendous support of local officials, former SEMFA officers and community members. Long live the spirit of Bayanihan! Mabuhay at maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat!
