No country deserves a future which is not interested in its past (Herbert Cranston 1949) Doug and I were teachers. We are on Georgian Bay learning about Canadian history. Im incredulous about some of the things Im learning about the Hurons.
The younger generation helping an older generation
Part of our maturing is realizing we are not just living and contending for ourselves but for our children-and their children and their children.(Johnny Enlow)

Can you believe it??? Doug has had a rough time with sinus problems, bloating, indigestion and our son sent him to his naturopath. Turns out he has many food sensitivities and the main one is corn. Ive been reading labels and guess what this strawberry jam and even Kraft peanut butter show CORN in the list of ingredients.
This is thrilling.
I am a RN in a Long Term Care facility. My residents are dying.....not from or with COVID........but from failure to thrive. (Some of them even say they are giv...ing up.) In other words from lack of contact with their families, reduced social activities, fearful looks when I wake them up to give them meds while I am wearing a mask and lack of human contact in general. On a daily basis probably 1/3 of staff are working overtime. We are tired but we still take a few minutes to rub a sore back, touch a cheek, hold a hand...... This is the untold side of elderly with what is happening. So if you think that "we are saving the elderly" with what we are doing.........we are NOT. Dying lonely is still dying. See more
I always ask people how they want to live in their new home. One of our priorities is family. Today grandsons picked 10 pounds of crabapples and made delicious jelly.
We have had Senior Move clients receive offers from people who have not seen the property.
I love this idea!
So good. Posted by my friend Roger Blackmore

Many people ask for guidance in choosing what to bring to their new residence. My question is always How do you want to live there? When you KNOW how you want to live it makes it easier to chose what to bring or purchase. Grandchildren are a priority to us. We bought two four wheelers for them to enjoy.

Ive been at the chiropractors office a lot lately and although this poster has been on the wall I never really looked at it until yesterday. Very interesting! Basically the ways people injure their backs
One of my priorities is time with family and two grandsons built this teepee . 3 people could sleep in it. When moving bring things to entertain grandchildren if they are part of your life. Paper, coloured pencils, cards, a game...
Some of The preparation
Ive seen this so often with the seniors Ive been with
Over 58 years married and Doug and I still try to go on a date every day. Sometimes we share a donut or a Pepsi. Time is precious. Enjoy it.
Doug and I have had wonderful times on boats. Now we enjoy sitting by the water enjoying our food, the boats, and each other
Awesome. We moved a man years ago who loved making bread. We brought his bread maker a small fridge and ingredients so in one room in a retirement residence he could continue doing what he loved
A lady we worked with did not want to bring this when she downsized. We suggested removing the glasses which she didnt use and putting some treasures in it including the urn with her husbands ashes. She is pleased.
