More and more I am realizing the value in making sure I wear proper respiratory protection in my line of work. Homeowners Don't wear protection so its even more important that you separate your living space from the space where construction is happening. Any good contractor knows this and takes precautions to keep you safe. Dust barriers are a must on job sites, especially if there are occupants living in the house.

This is a closet I framed and drywalled for a client. I also installed custom 24 deep shelving to accommodate their large Rubbermaid containers. I finished it off with these beautiful soft close barn doors. Child proof!

A little facelift on this kitchen. Replace countertop, tile backsplash, and new crown moulding and window trims. I will be installing a light over the sink as well.

Here is a little kitchen install. Drywall repair, moving a few plugs and vents. All in all pretty good for 3 days work. I convinced the home owners to install a peninsula island that will serve as a countertop and table.

Removed a chimney today. Whoever installed it cut right through the truss. It’s crazy what people get away with.

My free tip on matching different tile thicknesses. Use fast cap stick on screw caps as consistent shims to make the tile faces sit flush with each other. This way the different tile thicknesses will look the same and setting the tiles will be much easier. It prevents a lot of extra squeeze out.

Prepped for the electrician. I gutted the kitchen and some non load bearing walls. This will double the size of their kitchen and allow for better use of the space. I’ll keep posting as this one progresses.

Safety first. I cannot stress enough how important it is to take care of your lungs and even the lungs of your clients. Be sure to seal off your working area and cover all vulnerable surfaces. If something bad could happen it will! Murphy’s law will never take a break though you may.

Here are some before and after pictures of my last job. It turned out nice and the customer was very happy with the results. He was actually surprised that it turned out so nice considering he didn’t need to spent all that much. It all starts with good planning and thoughtful steps forward. Then it’s the right material, tools and people with enough forethought that can execute that plan. Happy renovating.

Here’s a nice little kitchen I installed a while back. I love cherry. In time, these cabinets will age well and develop more of a reddish tinge. Cherry is a beautiful wood and underrated I find. What’s your favourite wood. Leave a comment below. #cherrycabinets #cabinetry #senkoreno #renovations #carpentry #woodworking
