We would like to help combat the invasive Gypsy Moths and we would like your help! If you are out on a walk (following Provincial Guidelines) and see a gypsy moth egg mass Trent property, take a picture and add it to the iNaturalist app Later on, we will host an outing where we will collect the egg masses into soapy water which will help reduce the press of the moth To learn more visit https://www.ontario.ca/page/gypsy-moth
Thanks to everyone who helped us put the pawpaw sapling inside for the winter! If you would like to help put them out in the spring or look into how to care for a variety of species DM us on Instagram or Facebook or email us at [email protected]
SERTU has been present at many of the meetings discussing the Lands Plan, and we have liaised with other Groups impacted by this plan, and at no time has a definitive answer been given. Trent's go-to response is "We are looking at this at a high level" This means that they are not ready or willing to talk about the finer details and the impacts this will have on us. Even the TCSA balked at asking them to extend the consultation period, but it is important that Trent understands that they are ignoring us. Consider attending and hear what has to be said.
Our Pawpaws have been put away for the winter, but the work continues. Consider joining our team as we work out the logistics of placing a Nursery on Trent Campus, find stock, and create care guides. [email protected]
With winter rolling in, that brings an end to the herping season of 2020. But that doesn’t mean the winter season has to be all birding and getting furious at R...-code for not working! We are excited to announce that we are hosting a drop-in zoom series available to all Trent students showcasing various researchers and herpetologists who will be giving mini lectures on their research. This will be happening every first Wednesday of the month starting Wednesday, December 2nd!! The zoom link for the lectures will be posted in our bio, and will be posted on both our Instagram and Facebook pages. We are super excited to start this series and are looking forward to seeing everyone!!
