Industrial Civil Foreman - Kitimat, BC ServcoCanada, a local Industrial Construction Company is looking for full-time Industrial Civil Foreman to staff a long term project in Kitimat, B.C. If you are local, perhaps this is a position for you. Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, leading, organizing and controlling activities of a specific crew within an area. The Foreman is accountable to the Superintendent. Promote and demonstrate a positive and cooperative atti...tude towards HSE&S. Communicate HSE&S responsibilities to employees. Provide employees with task specific safety instruction. Assign mentors to new employees to master on site HSE&S requirements. Immediately report all incidents to immediate supervisor. Know and understand requirements of the Environmental Control Plan. Provide ongoing supervision of field employees to ensure work is done in accordance with established standards. Include safety observations as part of walkabouts; take corrective action on observed noncompliance. Conduct pre-job meetings with crew for each new task. Confirm employees are in proper mental and physical condition to perform assigned work safely. Experience: 3-5 years experience in industrial construction. Must be a team player. Strong knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines. Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills required Must be able to read blueprints, plans, sketches, or building plans and drawings proficiently to perform duties. Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction. Must be able to computer basic arithmetic functions. Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification. Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations. Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract. Must comply and pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Skilled Labourer include, but are not limited to: General labour duties: site clean up, shoveling, raking, hand compaction.... Load, unload and transport construction materials. Assist equipment operators with spotting. Perform duties of a flag person, direct flow of pedestrians, traffics and heavy equipment 100% Preferred to have some carpentry concrete experience Experience with pumps, generators, small tools, hand compaction equipment is an asset. Ability to read drawings an asset. Grading experience with laser or level equipment is an asset. Complete daily paperwork and participate in toolbox talks Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program. Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
