The Southern Italian restaurant with two locations in Toronto and the almost-one-year-old Picton spot was dreamed up by Vito Marinuzzi and his mother Rosa. The Southern Italian traditional recipes are all Rosa’s and honour her regional roots, says Vicky Worlidge, the owner of The County’s 7 Numbers location. Rosa loves people and she loves cooking. She is the matriarch and has been cooking at 7 Numbers since day one. It was this uncomplicated & gregarious approach to cuisine that Vicky and her husband Theotwo 7 numbers alumnifound so appealing when an opportunity to open a restaurant in The County presented itself. We’ve lived here for 11 years now and always loved the food that Vito and his mother have been making. My husband was a 7 Numbers server and I baked cakes for them. We even had our wedding there in Toronto. We immediately thought of them when a space came about. We said ‘we’d love to bring you and your mom’s food here’. Worlidge notes The County’s 7 Numbers is more on the rustic homestyle side than its Toronto counterparts. Another noteworthy difference is the huge focus on using as many local products and beverages from Prince Edward County as possible. We source local ingredients as much we can. We have buffalo mozzarella from Hops and Heifers and swear by Prinzen Farms chicken. We’re super lucky to be able to use produce all summer long from the farm stands too. 7 Numbers Picton’s Countylicious $20pp lunch and $40 pp dinner menu takes Rosa’s recipes and spins them into delicious Italian delights. These times have required a major pivot in how our businesses generate sales - big applause and recognition on how they have shifted gears to meet public needs Nov.14th restaurants will be able to reopen for indoor dining In Toronto.
