My mum passed away a few years ago and she left me her sewing machine that was her mother’s. It’s from 1938 from what I can see and was bought over from Holland when they came over by boat. Can anyone give me any info about this machine? This is the original receipt that my grandmother kept. I’ve had the receipt roughly translated and it states ‘Received from Mr (3 Initials) Beltman 1C Weerdsweg, Deventer? The sum of twenty seven Guilden for a Pfaff Hand Machine Model No 201...5 Serial No 3219-007 with lamp. 5 year guarantee on parts and manufacture 26th August 1938 Bought from the Pfaff Sewing machine House in Rotterdam. Thanks

When you are doing a lot of straight stitch sewing or doing embroidery on your creative icon, use your straight stitch plate. Remove the bobbin case cover. Using a screwdriver, pop the zigzag plate loose and remove it. Attach the straight stitch plate. Insert bobbin and replace the bobbin case cover. #pfaff #pfaffsewing

Using the Yarn Threader, thread the yarns through the holes on the foot. Attach the foot, placing the yarns under the foot, and select a decorative stitch. Place stabilizer behind the fabric.... The foot will straighten and line up the yarns while sewing. TIPS & HINTS: One, two, or three holes can be used when sewing. Any ribbon, cord, or yarn that fits through the holes can be used. #pfaff #pfaffsewing #itsinthedetails #perfectionstartshere See more

Attach the Free Motion Echo Quilting Foot and drop the machine feed dogs. Use the intersecting lines on the foot as placement guides. Stitch around the appliqué or pattern using the guides to keep the spacing even. Tip: If using the inner circle, spacing will be about 1/4. If using the outer circle, spacing will be a little more than 3/8. #PFAFF #pfaffsewing #itsinthedetails #quiltingtips

Friday is here at last! Yesterday I showed you how to make quilt labels using Sulky Transfer Pens, today I want to share with you a few tips on how to make a simple machine embroidered label. I’ll share how to use Sulky Soft ’n Sheer Cut-Away Permanent Stabilizer along with Gütermann Dekor Rayon Thread and SCHMETZ Embroidery Needles to make this very brightly colored label. All week I’ve been sharing tips and techniques using affordable notions, but today you’ll need an embro...idery machine. Embroidery machines are expensive, so not all quilters have one. If you don’t, I hope you’ll bear with me and at minimum be inspired by the workmanship, the colors, and my quilt, Frequency.
