As we begin the new year, the School of Criminology would like to reflect on events in the past year and issue a public statement indicating our support and commitment to change for Black, Indigenous, and people of colour condemning acts of injustice and racism. We are aware of the incident that happened on campus in December involving a Black SFU alumnus and the RCMP. We support a full and thorough investigation to evaluate the actions taken by the RCMP and campus security ...to promote transparency, accountability, and fair treatment of racialized individuals by legal authorities.
