#SFU researchers have received $300,000 from Innovate BC’s Ignite Program to develop technology that allows farmers to grow more food with less pesticides. Working with Terramera, the team hopes to reduce global synthetic pesticide use by 80 per cent by 2030.

For SFU alumnus Ravi Bansal-Beech, COVID-19 has been an opportunity to do what she does bestsolve problems. Her line of business? High-end fixtures and sanitary ware for the plumbing industry. Ravi, COO of Valley Acrylic, has teamed up with engineering researchers at UVic to create COVID-19-resistant wash basins.
