GLS turns 30 in 2021! One of the our anniversary initiatives is Letters from the Pandemic: A 30th Anniversary Commemorative Public Writing Project hosted by The Ormsby Review. GLS students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends are all invited to contribute to this project and tell us what they are thinking, what they are reading, what they are feeling, and what they are hoping in this particular moment. We’ll also be celebrating with a special 30th anniversary seminar series ...- more details to come very soon. https://ormsbyreview.com/2020/12/17/colby-pandemic-letters/ #GLS30 #LettersFromThePandemic

It's true! As Ono says, education in liberal arts sparks an openness to knowledge and involves philosophical and historical inquiry that will prepare us to solve the tough questions of the future.

One of our alums Nancy More! This is from the KPU newsletter: "KPU Brewing and Brewery Operations instructor, Nancy More, received a Legend Award at the 2019 BC Beer Awards on Oct. 19. Nancy is one of the first female brewmasters in North America, as well as being an internationally-respected brewer having set up and operated breweries in Europe, Russia and Africa, as well as Canada. Her depth of experience in the brewing world, her passion for education and her advocacy for ...gender-equity in the workplace make her a powerful force in the industry. Nancy’s contribution to the future of the industry continued when she helped design and develop the curriculum for Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s two-year Brewing and Brewery Operations Diploma. Her expertise and global knowledge have helped elevate KPU’s Brewing program, making it a world-class brewing school recognized by the Master Brewers Association, as well as the top brewing school in North America at the 2019 US Open College Beer Championships."
