Reading: Danielle LaFrance: JUST LIKE I LIKE IT Wednesday, November 25, 5:30PM PST Presented on Zoom Please contact [email protected] to register.... Co-presented with Talonbooks, this reading with poet Danielle LaFrance will be introduced by author Catriona Strang. In JUST LIKE I LIKE IT (2019), LaFrance combines poetry and autotheory as a means of targeting ideological infatuation, spilling into an obsession with ideological abolishment. "An Intimate Festival": A Recap of Festival of Recorded Movement F-O-R-M Festival of Recorded Movement wrapped up in late September, and by all accounts, it was a huge success. F-O-R-M had 2700+ viewers, who streamed events from 17 countries, which was possible due to their shift to a digital festival. According to Tamar Tabori, Youth Curator, the switch to digital allowed for more intimacy. "I had projected that the festival would be a more intimate experience for both artis...ts and audiences. It was exciting to give a platform to young artists who are combining different styles of work into one cohesive piece". For Sophia Wolfe, Artistic Director, it was critical to connect with the artists. "We approached the festival with emphasis on creating more space for the artists to share and connect; with an open heart, kindness, generosity and did our best to respond to their needs. Switching to digital gave us an opportunity to connect with the artists in ways we haven't been able to before". SFUW Cultural Programs extends a heartfelt congratulations to the entire F-O-R-M team on an incredible festival! You can help support their 2021 festival by donating.
