Shalom Dear Friends, We continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in our family of faith. In particular, for our brother Allan M. who recently received a pacemaker; for our sister Cathy Wiebe as she and Ron wait on the Lord for the next steps in cancer fighting treatments; and for Claude and Sandra as they both deal with current medical issues / procedures. Our Shabbat Services on November 14th will be be held as follows:... Whereas Columbia Bible College has mandated that faces be masked/covered at all times in the College buildings, therefore, we will hold 2 indoor full length services and 1 outdoor shorter service as follows: 2:00 - 3:00 PM. First Afternoon Indoor Chapel Service (Face Cover Required). Smaller children in our Pre-school and Readers Classes are exempt from this requirement. All Shabbat School classes will be held as usual. However, there may be some juggling of classroom space as a film crew is on campus over this weekend. Guest Speaker: Bernard Mukwavi, District Minister of the BC Baptist Conference. 3:05 - 3:25 PM. Second Afternoon Outdoor (20 minute) Service (No Face Covering Required) We will meet on the college campus between the parking lot and the dining hall. Please dress warmly as the weather forecast is for overcast skies and +7c! Pastor Murray will conduct a brief outdoor service where he will deliver a brief sermon and encourage our congregants in spiritual exercises of prayer and Scripture reading. 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Third Indoor Chapel Service (Face Covering Required). Guest Speaker Bernard Mukwavi will speak at this service as well. Bible Studies: Home Bible Studies are in recess for the time being. Administrative Meetings: Administrative Meetings of our Board of Directors will be jointly held (Elders & Deacons together) on the last Saturday of the month (ie, November 28th); We will convene for a short 30 minute debriefing between our afternoon services to discuss current issues affecting our congregation. Other home-based administrative meetings are recessed for now. You are encouraged to continue to attend and participate in the Sabbath services of Shabbat Shel Shalom in keeping with the command to "not forsake the assembling of yourselves together". We look forward to seeing you all this coming Sabbath Day. Our purpose as a congregation stands as a witness to the communities across the Fraser Valley and we shall persevere in our mission.
