Shadows of the Mind Film Festival

Shadows of the Mind Film Festival regretfully announces the cancellation of our February 2021 festival due to COVID-19. The board and working committee found this a very difficult decision and thank the many generous patrons, volunteers and sponsors that allow this long standing film festival to bring world class cinema to the Sault for 21 years, while encouraging conversations about mental health and addictions in our community. We are hopeful that these conversations will continue and trust that everyone remain safe and healthy so that we can once again celebrate the magic of film together in 2022. https://www.shadowsfilmfest.com/films/

It is with great regret that we must announce this year’s Summer Shadows series has officially been cancelled. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be holding our free movies in Bellevue park this August. We remain cautiously hopeful for our 22nd winter edition in late February 2021, and we hope to see you next August for Summer Shadows. Stay safe! Best wishes from everyone at Shadows.

In these trying and unprecedented times, Shadows of the Mind would like to remind you all that art and film can be an escape. It's so easy to be consumed by the scary news of the world these days. Here at Shadows, we are very thankful and grateful our festival completed before the pandemic blew out of control. In efforts to give a quick mental break or some relief, and to talk about something different, comment below what your favourite film you ever saw at Shadows was. It could be something from any of our previous 20 seasons, a film you saw at Summer Shadows, or something from just this past 21st season. We remain hopeful that we will be able to host our annual Summer Shadows series in August. Until we have more information, please stay safe and stay healthy. We can all do our part to flatten the curve.

That's a wrap! Our 21st season is now in the books, and we'd like to thank our amazing volunteers, sponsors and most importantly, our dedicated film lovers. This year, we had 3200 people attend our festival, stretched over 29 films in 8 days. Keep checking this page, as we will be posting some photos and news articles from the festival in the coming days.
