You heard of a cat in the hat,but how about a bear in a tree. LOL the black bear was here 2 days ago and climbed in our crabapple tree. Looked cool but it is not a good idea to have him in the Park. So i did take the truck and i drove to where he was and honked the horn at 8 Am. Till today he did not return.
How time flies by when you are having fun as another year has gone by. A week ago we turned of the water to the Park as we had -4C (25F) outside and 2 days ago we put the closed sign up. This is a year that everyone wants to forget as do we. More than 50 cancellations and some people not showing up at all. As for the weather it was one of the worst once i think Houston had. Almost every single day it rained here and the weeds grew like crazy, i guess i should not complain a...s we did not have the forest fires we had in 2017/18. Yesterday was the first snowfall and about about 1" (2.5cm) fell, but today it is all gone. Well we would like to say thanks to everyone that came to stay with us this year like Bryce,Jason (thanks for helping get the fire wood) Dave,Dustin, King Pro Construction (Adam and Uzi who are building the Tim Hortons in town),Off course thanks to Vello and Margret who have stayed with us the last 3 years. Thanks to Judith King who did such a nice job painting the rocks and than put them in our garden,Brad thanks for staying here. And Lo our local fire fighter who is coming back from California tomorrow where she was fighting the fires down there. And off course Jill and Trevor. You left us once before and you have returned. Arnie and Colleen stayed with us a couple of days and who was our very first customer after we took the park over in 2017, and then it turns out they are good friends of ours in Terrace. Well Franks Our friend from Terrace came by 4 days ago fixed the roof that got partially blown away but the strong winds we had earlier this year. Someone else was going to come, but on the day he said no as he is starting some other roofing job. Alice and Bob sorry we did not see you this year as we were full when you guys where coming to Houston. But we hope to see you next year.to site and all our bathrooms are closed. Keith to bad the borders where not open so you come and fish up here, as you have been doing for the last 20 years. We hope everyone has a great winter, and that the borders open soon so that the normal travelers get back to there normal routine. Just so you know we are closed but if you need a place to stay the night we will try to have a spot for you. Just so you do know there is no water . Also we do have one winterized site available for the folks that will stay thru the winter See you all Next Year and
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We hope everyone has a fantastic day. Cathie made turkey in the clay cooker and man it was juicy. We had 4 of our guest staying in the park join us for dinner. Everyone had to loosen there belts as everyone was so stuffed. Unfortunately 2 of them are leaving us tomorrow as it is getting cold outside and they are freezing in there trailers. We will miss you guys. $ days ago was the first time we had to turn on the pellet stove as it is getting quite cold. Today we turned of water to the park and those that are still staying and they have a winterized trailer i will fill up there tanks
One of our favorite guest stayed a while with us and wrote this on his blog. Thanks Vello for the kinds words
Video was taken Sept 10/2020 the year everybody wants to forget. Our grass has never been this green since we owned the Park
Instead of doing 2 posts i am going to make one and have 2 different occasions First I would like to thanks friends Arnie and Colleen from Alberta to come and stay with us for a couple of days on there way to Terrace. We went to Smithers and enjoyed a nice ice cold beer at the Smithers Brewing Company. Thanks guys it was fun having you here.... Second. Here are some of the close up pictures that Cathie took of her flowers. Now that the sun is out they are really starting to bloom
Some of the flowers are starting to bloom nicely. They where out earlier this year but because of the torrential down pour they did not look so good so i did not take any pictures till not
Two days in a row we have not had rain, jahhhhh. So we decided to have a little get together around the firepit with some of our guests. Vello and Margret,Brad,Steve (thanks for the review on google ) and Coreen. It was nice having you all stay with us.
Well we had a freak Hail store today that lasted maybe 3 minutes. First came thunder and than it started to Hail. It was a coller day today and when the wind came you felt the cold.
Hail Storm Houston BC Aug 11
Woohoo look who has finally showed up. It is almost August and Summer is FINALLY here.It is now about 5 days without rain. I thought summer would not show up this year, but here it is .
Happy Canada to everyone. Hope everyone is going to have a peaceful day. It is our 3'rd Anniversary today and usually we make a BBQ for all our guests but because no one is travelling and our park is full of workers, we decided not to do a BBQ today is because everyone is gone for the long weekend. The weather is sunny not like the last 2 years where it almost monsooned just before we started the BBQ. But it is very windy. So everyone Happy Canada again and stay safe .
Couple more rocks from Judith where put down a week or so ago. Thanks Judith and i hope your new job goes well. Also a couple more flowers that have been blooming. The Peonies are starting to open up, so i will post them in a couple of days
