Shaggy Dog Grooming 18.11.2020

Hello to Kaia, Hayden and Sandy! A trio of labradoodles!! Kaia, who is Bo’s sister, is an 8 month old labradoodle. This was her first time with me and she had a bath and tidy. Despite her youthful enthusiasm, she did really well on the table. Good girl, Kaia! The serious looking fellow is Hayden, another labradoodle. His coat is much thicker than Kaia’s. Doodles can vary so much, one from the other. Hayden also came for a bath and tidy. He is a really good boy! Last up is Sandy, our third labradoodle! She came for a full groom. Her coat is very fine and not at all thick. Again, very different from the other two. Sandy still has a lot of energy, she’s not yet 2, but always behaves really well! Another good girl!

Up on the catwalk today are Cooper, Fritzy and Appa! Cooper is a golden doodle and is one of the sweetest, most agreeable dogs I have the pleasure to groom. He’s a very handsome fella! Fritzy is a 16 year old shih tzu cross who has the energy of a puppy! He is always happy and really good for me. Forgot the before picture. Oops! Appa is a year old King Charles cavalier/poodle cross. This was his first time with me. He’s a very sweet, energetic boy who likes to give kisses! I think he turned out really well! A real cutie.

Say hello to Toby, who is a member of one of the rarest breeds, a Stabyhoun! And yes, I had to look it up. Toby is a very striking looking dog with beautiful colouring! Here he is in the happy hoodie about to be blow dried. Looking a little nervous, I must say! I was able to give him a bath and tidy despite his reluctance. Toby was just a tad nervous about the process, but we got through it relatively unscathed! Good job, Toby, you did it!!

Today was Piper and Calla day! Piper is a wire-hair fox terrier. She is always such a good girl for me and she is very striking looking! Don’t see many fox terriers around. Calla is a senior wheaten terrier. Remembered after I started to groom her to get a before picture. Oops! Like Piper, Calla is really sweet and so good to groom!

Here’s a trio for your perusal. First up is Ozzie, a 6 month old labradoodle. This was his first bath and tidy and I have to say, he came through it with flying colours! He wasn’t the biggest fan of the blow dryer at first, but he settled down quickly when the treats arrived to distract him! Good job, Ozzie! Next is another labradoodle, Bo, who is around 8 months old. Similar coat to Ozzie, just at the opposite end of the colour spectrum! Bo also came for a bath and tidy a...nd this being his second time with me is already an old pro at the process. Well done, Bo! Wilson is a whoodle, a wheaten/poodle cross. He is the mature member of the group. Of course, I forgot to take a before picture of his full coat before I started shaving, so all that is left is his yet untouched head. But I think you get the idea of his before look. I definitely need to get some better lighting for the dark haired dogs. After pictures taken outside always show them off at their best. But great job, Wilson!

Say hello to Edi, Lola and George! I had a hard time whittling down my pictures today because the dogs were just so cute! Edi, a morkie, was particularly photogenic today. His last picture was his opinion on getting groomed! Lola, a wheaten/shepherd cross, came for a bath and tidy. The wind today gave her her windblown hair commercial moment! George is a young standard poodle. He is a very sweet boy who is really good to groom! He has a lovely, velvety coat!

Marty, the golden retriever, came for a bath and tidy. He’s a really sweet boy with a real knack for slipping out of the noose and jumping off the table! Thankfully a treat gets him right back on! I didn’t get a before picture of Paisley, the Aussie doodle, but here she is after her groom all ready to go. Such a good girl!

Stella came for a groom today. Here she is after her bath and blow dry. What a fluff ball! Not very fluffy after her groom, but she will definitely be ready for her Christmas pictures in the next month. Next up is Marley, a 13 year old doodle. What a trooper she is! Was great on the table and even gave me a little attitude getting her nails clipped. Definitely still feeling young and frisky!

Say hello to Ben! He’s a big love bug, who also happens to be a golden doodle. Ben is about 9 years old and has been coming to me for 4 years now. He’s as well behaved now as he was in the beginning and he’s always such a happy boy!

First up is Carson, an adorable Boston Terrier puppy. What a sweetie! He came for his first bath and brush and did awesome! Next are Duke and Stella. Both are great to groom and are such happy dogs! Last is Deuce, an older Doodle. He’s another great dog to groom! He has quite a thick, woolly coat so even a shorter cut keeps him fairly warm in the colder weather.

This is Penny modeling The Happy Hoodie. It helps muffle the noise of the air force dryer and since this was Penny’s first time with me, I thought it would help relax her. Even though her tail is firmly tucked between her legs , she did really well! And the treats helped cheer her up! Moki is a bernadoodle who is not quite a year old. This was her first haircut and since there was some matting happening, she got a short cut. Quite a difference in the before and after! With some conscientious brushing between grooms, Moki can definitely have a longer style in the future. Her last 2 photos are her on the lookout for her owner. And there she is!!

Daisy was in for a haircut. What a sweet face and such a good girl! Emma, a large shepherd cross, was in for a bath and tidy. She is an older girl but does really well for me, a real trooper! Also an extremely hairy girl! Such a lovely looking dog!

Sparky, a pug, can’t believe the hair on the floor! You know I’m a short haired dog, right? Leo is a bichon/poodle cross who is the sweetest little guy! He always looks so adorable after his groom!!

Say hello to Bumi and Honey! Bumi is a 1 1/2 year old Whoodle. It was his first time with me and he did exceptionally well! Just an all around good boy. And look at that face! What a cutie! Honey is a shih tzu who came for a bath and tidy. She is a real sweetheart who is always such a good girl for me. She is the cutest little girl who always enjoys her after groom treats!

Cora is a young Goldendoodle who came for a haircut. She is a well behaved young girl who is very sweet! I love the colouring of her ears! Next up is Gidget, a 18 year old Pom/Chihuahua cross. She is a bit frail, but a real trooper when it comes to getting groomed! She gets a very short cut, but she grows out her hair quite quickly.

Hello Lexi, Franklin and Bitou! Here’s Lexi wearing the always fashionable Happy Hoodie. It helps muffle the sound of the high velocity dryer. Some dogs don’t care for the hoodie, but Lexi didn’t mind it at all. She is a very sweet girl who was very happy with the hair I was able to brush off of her! Franklin is a young Aussiedoodle who has the most obliging manner! He does everything you ask of him, turn this way, then that way, sit, stand, jump up. He is awesome to groom! He also happens to be a very handsome fellow! Bitou is a 14 year old Havanese, who can run circles around me. He is very energetic and, other than his nails and ear plucking, he is really good when getting groomed!

Little Nella, a yorkie, came for a groom and she was such a good girl for me! As you can see, Nella was pretty stoic about the whole thing. I think she just wanted to get the visit over with ASAP. Next is Lucy, a wheaten terrier. This was her first full groom, as she is only around 8 months old. It’s quite a shock to go from all that hair, to a really short cut, but she had quite a few tight matts so short was the only way to go. In a few weeks she will have more hair and will look a little more like herself. She is very good for a puppy! Very patient.

Two bath and tidies. Here is Smore, a bernadoodle, coming and going! He does everything I ask of him. Such a good boy! Next is Findley, a havanese, who’s hair is growing out. He is so fluffy and is a real sweetie!

Today was white dog day! First up is Oscar, who does look awful cute fluffy, but he hides some matts, so he gets a nice short cut. He is such a happy guy and so sweet! Next is Louis, who is 12. Another really good boy, who wasn’t too keen on posing for the camera. Say cheesy bone! Last, is Teddy who was thrilled to be done, as you can see by his dancing after photo. Too cute!!
