UPDATE: Fantastic Fungi Cancelled! Hi, Fantastic Fungi ticket holders! Unfortunately, the Provincial Health Office has now prohibited all public events, indoors or outdoors, with more than 50 people.... The screening of Fantastic Fungi in Gibsons will be postponed indefinitely for the time being. I will attempt to bring it to the Heritage Playhouse again for a screening as soon as possible. If we are unable to book a live talk to accompany the screening, the future ticket price for screening only will likely be reduced. Your credit card will be refunded within 24 hours, but it may take up to 5 business days before it shows up on your statement. If you have any problems with your refund, please let me know immediately. For persons who purchased paper tickets, you may return them to where you purchased them for your refund. If there are any issues with returning tickets, please let me know. I thank all of you for your patience, suggestions and offers to help. Hello, Fantastic Fungi ticket holders. Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to host a Fantastic Fungi screening at the Heritage Playhouse on Thursday March 26th, as the Playhouse has just suspended all of their scheduled events for the time being. I am looking for feedback from you to help me decide the best option going forward: how and when would you like to see Fantastic Fungi? There are a few options: : We can postpone the screening and book a future date at the Play...house. There is the possibility that booking a new date would mean that there might not be a live simulcast discussion with Paul Stamets or others as part of the screening. : We can attempt to find an alternative venue OUTDOORS on the 26th to proceed with the screening and simulcast talk. Being outdoors would give people the option to keep social distance from others while enjoying the experience. I may contact the SCRD about Shirley Macey Park, but if people have other suggestions, I'm open to ideas. In order to pull this off, I would need to engage community support to help run this event. : We can cancel the screening, refund everyone's money, then explore doing a screening in the future when the health crisis is definitively over. On a personal level, this is the least attractive option because I will lose money and have to pay for the same things all over again down the road. I hope you all are in good health, and I am hopeful we can come up with an alternative screening arrangement that will work for everyone.
