We are two lions littered in one day, And I the elder and more terrible, And Caesar shall go forth Decoded: In our 2016 adaptation, Julia Caesar compares herself to danger using twin lions (herself the bigger and more terrible) as a metaphor in response to Calpurnia’s premonitions and urgings no to go to the Senate. To her, skipping a Senate on account of her wife’s premonitions implies fear and cowardice, and dishonorable. She would heed her warnings if she wouldn’t loo...k weak to the world, but her vain sense of honor leads to her downfall. _ Jackie Block and Elizabeth Nepjuk in J.
