Protocols for treatment of low back pain have changed immensely over the past decade. Your first line of defence in both treatment and prevention of pain is manual therapy (like massage), stretching and strengthening exercises!

Gradual Re-Opening Beginning June 1, 2020 Please note I will be scheduling less clients per day and more time between appointments to limit client interactions and to complete strict cleaning protocols. I am returning to work gradually and have a long waiting list at this time, so there may be a delay in booking an appointment. Clients in need of essential care will be prioritized. Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support!

A rainy day is the perfect time to complete some E-Learning courses. Not only have these refreshed my memory on many things, but I have learned some new things that will benefit myself and my clients safety when returning to work! Most people probably aren’t aware that RMTs know how to don and doff full PPE, proper cleaning techniques, infection control protocols and extensive hand washing procedures!

Thank you to all my wonderful clients for your patience and I hope you are all doing well! Although I cannot yet share a date to reopen I thought I would share some of the new protocols I will be putting into place for your health and safely. These will be reposted and updated as I receive more information from my governing body. -All clients will be prescreened the day of their appointment, I will contact you via text or phone. -All clients will remain in their vehicle or ou...tside of the building until the time of their appointment. I will come open the door for you and escort you to the treatment room. -All clients will wash or sanitize their hands before and after their appointment. -All clients are strongly encouraged to wear a mask to their appointment (I will be wearing my PPE and I would appreciate if you wear one for my safety, I have severe asthma) -All clients are encouraged to pay electronically via debit, credit or e-transfer. I can provide email receipts for insurance benefits. I expect appointments will run a few minutes longer than normal due to adding additional infection prevention measures (this will not affect your treatment time). As always linens will be changed after each client. My linens are washed with scent free detergent and bleach in hot water. I clean all surfaces with PRE-empt RTU disinfectant solution. See more

This week I began my studies to become a certified Doula! Why do I want to become a Doula? I think it’s a fantastic addition to my business as I am passionate about providing care to families in our community. I think we need more advocates and support available to expecting families in the north. My 3 years of knowledge and experience as an RMT will be an asset to me in this new endeavour as I already provide treatment for many different conditions in infants and pre and pos...t natal clients. I am incredibly excited to offer this service in the future along with continuing to offer massage therapy at the same time. I am studying with Doula Canada and my program will take 1-2 years to complete (you work at your own pace completing assignments, exams, & providing care to families in the community). My course reading list is extensive, so if anyone has any pregnancy, postpartum or breast feeding books they would be open to letting me borrow for a short time to read, I would greatly appreciate it! I hope you enjoy this video I created today on remedial exercises for the shoulder! All excercises are examples and you are welcome to modify them to suit your needs, each one is preformed 3 sets of 10 reps with 30 sec- 1min breaks in between. I am unable to provide treatment at this time but I am available anytime via phone or social media to help in any way I can. Social distancing is a challenge, not only is it a struggle getting by without income, but it’s also hard to maintain a positive mindset with all the media around us. I am spending my days by being outside as much as possible and I encourage you all to do that as well, sunshine and fresh air are so helpful in calming the mind and body. Know that in this time I am thinking of all of you, I miss seeing you and cannot wait to get back to providing treatment to those who need it!
