A CCA at Maplestone Enhanced Care, Shelby Frank has been in the field for just over a year. Shelby says "Growing up, people would always tell me I would excel at a career in healthcare, particularly as a front line worker. As a child, I would always play 'pretend nurse', and knew from a young age that this was the direction I wanted to take with my life. My ultimate goal is to provide people with the care and compassion they deserve. When I make one of my residents smile, it fills my soul with bliss." We are proud to report that Shelby is on the way to fulfilling this lifelong dream of becoming a nurse! #GreatPeople #GoShelby!

We have superstar CCAs at Celtic Court. Vera has worked with Shannex for 10 years and Laura 11! Vera Mitchell takes pride in doing hair and makeup for residents and making sure they look their Sunday best! Vera knew heath care was her calling after spending time and sharing so much love with her uncle, who has down syndrome, that at some point in her life she would have a career helping take care of others. Her favourite time of year? October, as she absolutely loves Hallowee...n. Laura Dicks had no idea heading into her career as CCA that she was going to enjoy it as much as she does. She never planned to work fulltime, but after someone told her that she was meant to care for people she decided to explore becoming a CCA. Her favourite thing about her career really is the little things, like having chats with residents. Pictured: Vera and Laura along with with Mary White Sheppard, a resident at Celtic.
Family Spotlight! We are so fortunate to have so many loving families as part of our communities at Shannex. It was great fun shared by all. Thank you to all of our valued families who make our communities complete.
