To frame or not to frame? This is the most asked question I get. Although in my opinion it comes down to personal taste, there are some important factors to consider as well. Where are you planning on hanging it (frames offer protection)? Are you invested in the painting and will love it for a long time? Do you want it to compliment your furnishings? What are the features of the art in terms of the edging and thickness? But overall I believe it’s the relationship you ...have with the art. I used to prefer a deep canvas piece of art unframed for some reason but over the past few years I had a chance to see how framing improves the look and feel of a piece so much more in my eyes. Have you ever had pieces of your kids doodles around the house that you didn’t know what to do with, but then throw them in a cheap frame as a temporary fix? Not only did it make your kid feel pretty special but it actually made the art look pretty special too. Hung in a collection properly on the wall and you’ve got something much more refined right? In my opinion it’s kind of the same idea with any art. Framed properly and professionally you’ve now got something beautiful, protected and finished.
