I CAN SEE YOU 36"x36" Acrylic $450 One of my most memorable encounters with nature occurred on Highway 75, just south of Morris, rounding a curve..not yet at highway speed. I looked to my left and realized a young coyote was keeping pace with me. She looked at me and our eyes locked for a second. I slowed down, she made a graceful turn to the left and the safety of the riverbank. I wished her a long life.

WE ARE NEVER ALONE 36"x60" Acrylic $1200 Sale $750 Driving past Ridgeville on one of our sightseeing tours, we saw three shapes in the field off the road. At first I thought Geese, getting ready to fly south, but they were too big, too tall...so maybe people. We drove through some back roads, trying to get closer, but they were moving away. Finally, I caught a glimpse about 500 yards off, and they were Great Blues. Twenty years ago these were unknown here ...on the Prairies, but lately, the marshes hang around all summer and there's moisture in the air, not drought. They seem to like these wide open plains, where they have a good view of strangers approaching. I tramped off through the fields while my patient husband waited in the car with the dogs. I got a couple of hundred yards closer, and realized I was making them nervous. So I stopped and got the best pictures I could, knowing this would be a painting. I've never felt closer to this Prairie landscape. See more
