As we face a new year, in such unprecedented times, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on my year. 2020 started with a distaster that definitely caught all of our attention, Australia was burning- animals were left hurt and homeless. Crafters around the world came together, grabbed their needles, hooks and sewing machines and got busy making mittens, pouches, and nests . I am proud to say I contributed to the 6 cargo flights Aircanada brought from Canada to Australia. Warm...s my heart to know some little critter felt safe in something I made Later in March crafters again united and began making gowns, bags, masks, and ear savers. This time for our local front line workers. Shauna's Stitches donated over 600 ear savers to frontline and essential workers. I couldn't have done this without the help of my wonderful community. The button donations were amazing, and made it possible. Thank you all for your kindness. In May my husband joined a whiskey wizards group, and as a gag gift, I made a Boobie beer cozy. Well..they ended up being my top seller this year. ( if you haven't ordered one yet, you should! Great conversation piece, endless laughs) Then came the pocket shawl, and boy did those keep me busy! I've struggled, like many others trying to balance being a full time mom/ teacher and working to keep orders moving out the door. I've mastered new techniques and stitches( but that didnt come without a load of failing first. ) Food sets, stuffed animals, blankets, beverage cozies, pocket shawls..it's been a whirlwind year, full of ups and downs. I am beyond grateful for every single order, and I absolutely love when you come to me with your own creative ideas for me to bring to life. Thank you for keeping me busy. Hope you all had a magical Christmas and now that the day is over, I can post this custom crossword blanket I did over the holidays These blankets make not only a wonderful Christmas gift, but are perfect for any occasion; anniversaries, birthdays, mothers/ fathers day.
