Shawanaga First Nation is in the initial stages of creating a management plan for Shawanaga Island that balances responsible use of the land and protection of the island for the next seven generations for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. In order to be well informed in our drafting of the management plan and ensure that it is reflective of our members and neighbours alike, we created a survey to gather input on how you enjoy the lands and waters of Shawanaga Island. All answers submitted will remain anonymous. Click here to fill out the survey: https://survey123.arcgis.com//5009eaa1d26c457290da778edc5f

Say aanii to this year’s annual youth hunt crew! Unfortunately things looked a little different this year due to COVID-19 but everyone made the most of it! The group consisted of a wide variety of ages and knowledge from our community members and staff. Their days started early and carried until almost dark but they were kept energized with the delicious food catered by Hiawatha’s. Miigwetch for your efforts and good luck on your last hunt today!
