Last night, Melissa, Darlene and I talked about the various situations Leeza might find herself in. Mostly, it was an exercise in trying to calm ourselves, but... fundamentally this conversation was about trying to simply figure out the next steps to take. With all the scenarios in mind, we still land on two main themes... she’s with someone (the most likely), or she’s at large (somewhat less likely). I’ve written about the first case before, but feels like it bears repeating; If you have her, we’re first and foremost grateful to you as you are probably giving her some care and feeding. If you’re hiding her, however, she must be lonely and starved for light (I just choked up writing that). We again implore you to call us! We will NEVER expose you and your reward will be generous. We can guarantee you that what you receive from us will be more than you can sell her for to anyone else and further, that your risk will be lower, as anyone you sell her to may be caught and that could lead straight back to you. With us, we make you the promise, here and now, that your secret is safe. We also recognize that she may be with someone who wants to keep her for themselves. She’s a lovely dog... good natured and sweet. She can put you in the weeds if she’s on leash (why we sought a trainer to begin with, as my wife and I both have old injuries that can flare easily), but in just about every respect, she’s the perfect dog. Anyone who comes in contact with her will know this right away. If she was perceived to be a stray, with no owner or visible means of support, keeping her is something many could justify. Like the above, I write the following like it’s being read by a person who has her with them right now... we don’t blame you, but we want her home. If you won’t do this, we only ask you to give her the best life (crying again) you possibly can. In the other case we can address without bowing to worst cases, she may still be out there... either roaming on the land, or with a person who doesn’t know she’s missing and loved and would gladly bring her back to us. Where those ideas are concerned, only eyes and shares of her profile will bring attention to our plight. We thank you all for reading, writing, watching and most of all, SHARING!! I’ve had many conversations this last while around Covid - or should I say the ‘emotional effect’ Covid has had and how it seems the majority internalizes.
