Shawnigan’s Model United Nations students recently spent three days participating in one of Canada’s premier educational simulations. Vancouver Model United Nations (VMUN) is the largest high school student-organized Model UN conference in North America, simulating world diplomacy and inspiring delegates to become more aware, more educated, and more thoughtful global citizens. Our campus received some holiday cheer on Friday, November 20 as the Grade 8s had fun decorating Mitchell Hall.
All Grade 10 students participated in a COVID-friendly version of the Shawnigan House of Commons (SHOC), an annual event organized by the Social Studies Department. This experience concludes the Grade 10s' curricular study of Canadian government and gives a valuable and memorable insight into our parliamentary system.
