No trip is complete without some rock climbing - even if the rock is covered in tarantula and bitey red ant homes and the climate is 90% rain and fully wet air molecules... This one is from my first trip with Juan @jandresbm when we made the 3 hr trek, with camera and camping gear, to the Rio Sumpul massacre site. This first ascent came when the rest of the group was taking a breather, and I decided to take advantage of the break to explore the riverbed! Today, May 14, is the 40th anniversary of the massacre at Sumpul River. Today we can remember the victims and declare our solidarity with the survivors. I can look back at the past two commemorations while working on the documentary with director, Juan Bello @jandresbm This would be have been my 4th (final for the documentary) trip, getting to explore the sublime beauty of the El Salvadoran landscape, juxtaposed by the traumatic stories of the civil war that forced the civilians to stand up for their human rights.
