From a full head of high maintenance highlights to a blended, lived in blondie

Last week we did a big change up for her birthday . I loved every second of it, the best way to celebrate another year is to have your hair done! We also applied a semi permanent colour that matched her natural to blend in some grey and add shine

Loaded up full head of highlights, shadow tone to create a lived in root/blur lines + all over tone to rid underlying yellow, treat & trim . Service time was just under 4hrs.

3 hours of magic (year and a half since last appt)... did NOT think the magenta would budge all that much without using a direct-dye remover let alone come out this clean ! We did a full head of highlights, balayaged the mids/ends, toned, treated with olaplex and finished with a trim.

Gotta love a good colour job Products: #wella for lift+shadow+tone, styled with 1 curling iron, shook things up with some DOO.OVER texturizing hairspray (smells yummy) by #kevinmurphy , REPAIR.ME shampoo+condish & leave in (also smells yummy) was used to leave the hair nourished, soft & silky Total service time: record breaking 2.5hrs so @mercederobertson wouldn’t be late for work

CORRECTIVE WORK Total time: 12hrs Removing artificial, or even natural, dark colour (especially the kind that comes from a box kit), doesn’t happen quickly or inexpensively. Patience is key because no matter what, there will always be that warmer stage (photo 2) before achieving cool/light blonde shades. Hair will ALWAYS fade warm because of what lies underneath the surface; our underlying pigments, even at lighter levels, are still gold/yellow and copper/orange. ...This job was done over 3 sessions, spread about 4wks apart. The first and second lift (photo 2 & 3) are usually the most frustrating to live with because there’s always reddish/orangey levels to pass through first. Hope this helps anyone that is looking to go lighter or wondering why those white/platinum tones eventually yellow out over time.
