We want to make sure we are here for you now more than ever. During these uncertain and stressful times, many of you have asked about access to your medical cannabis. If youre purchasing your medicine through a Licensed Producer, here are some tips and some reassurance. For those of you growing your own medical cannabis, we wish you strong, healthy plants that offer you relief from your symptoms.

Posted @withrepost @the_herblife This episode youll hear from Jamie Shaw, long time advocate and industry veteran. She is joined by cohost Ashleigh Brown, Founder of SheCann, one of the first online cannabis communities catering to women This episode titled Awkward, by Jamie Shaw, is our first ever self-titled episode, and it pays homage to the current state of legal cannabis, just one year after legalisation in Canada.... The overarching theme of this Awkward session, is the idea that its now up to patients and consumers to be the voice of change. Luckily as Ashleigh points out, its a very rapid shift from sceptic to patient to advocate - but theres still much work to be done. Listen in on Apple Podcasts, Google Play and through our website. We have welcomed thousands of new members this year, and I often take for granted that many of you may not know how SheCann came to be, or why it exists. Hopefully this video sheds a bit of light on that <3 Medical cannabis always comes back to patients, and our stories. It isnt always easy or possible to share with others, due to stigma or judgement, or lack of education, but we want to let you know, your challenges and your journey matter- you are safe here. I personally ...feel a very big responsibility to speak and to advocate, and even when I am tired or overwhelmed or having a rough go health-wise, I am thankful for the opportunity to lead this community and to tell my story publicly in hopes of making the journey easier and less lonely for others. My own journey is far from over but made so much better by all of you. Welcome to ALL of you- and thanks to each one of you- whether you have been here for 5 minutes of 2 years- you are all contributing to the unique, important and powerful space that is SheCann. xoxo Ashleigh See more

Advocacy over Politics - Time to share your voice! On Oct 7th there will be another Leaders Debate, and once again we have the opportunity to be the voice of Canadian medical cannabis patients by submitting a question. The deadline for submission is Sunday, September 22nd. We are starting to hear more about cannabis in the election conversation, and as we have said before, questions that dont get asked dont get answered. So please join us in submitting a question (or 9!...) regarding removing the tax on our medicine. Included below is a sample question, and there is a quick form to submit in this link. Feel free to share as much of your personal story as you want in your question- we all have lived experiences and you matter. Lets put many faces and voices to this issue. Progress is a process and we arent stopping any time soon. Thank you for taking in part in this. QUESTION TEXT: I am a medical cannabis patient one of hundreds of thousands in Canada using cannabis under medical care. When recreational cannabis was legalized, the government put extra taxes sin taxes on medical cannabis. Patients were penalized to prevent recreational users from gaming the system. It is causing hardship. Its medicine for me that I often cannot afford. The Health Minister says people shouldnt be forced to choose between medicine and other necessities. Medical cannabis patients have to all the time. Unlike other medicine like opiates, for example, medical cannabis is not covered by public or most private insurance plans. The taxes on cannabis are forcing sick people to under-medicate or choose the medicine over other necessities. If you are elected will you take remove the taxes on medical cannabis? Will you put the promise in your election platform? SheCanns focus is always on access and affordability, so today we are choosing to highlight Licensed Producers who have either maintained or improved their compassionate pricing programs for patients since legalization. We are pleased to see more options on this list and not less. Below is a link to the Strainprint Community chart that gives a detailed explanation of each program as well. #compassionatepricing #licensedproducers #medicalcannabis #canadiancannabis #acmpr #SheCann #yesshecann #SheCannCannabis

With a federal election upon us, one of the issues that is likely to come up is the excise tax on medical cannabis. Many LPS stepped forward to absorb this tax, instead of passing it on to patients. We are aware that this is not an option for many small LPs, nor is it a sustainable solution for the medical cannabis industry, so we will continue to support the efforts to have the excise tax removed. Stay tuned for more information on this! In the meantime, here is a list of L...Ps that continue to absorb the federal excise tax- we are thankful that they have worked to make medical access a priority. * denotes the fact that provincial duties in select provinces are not being absorbed. This applies to AB, ON, SK and NVT at varying rates established by provincial governments. #excisetax #medicalcannabis #canadiancannabis #acmpr #cannabiscommunity #cannabis #storiesnotSINtax #whytaxmymedicine #whySINtaxmedicine #SheCann #yesshecann #SheCannCannabis

Good Morning/Afternoon Friends, We hope that your week is finding you all well. Over on the SheCann group we have many important conversations that embody empowerment, learning and leadership. A topic that comes up often is in regard to the stigma attached to cannabis and its use both as Adult Use (Recreational) and Medically. Our hope is to help change that within our Country and abroad. ... This link is to a very helpful tool. If you are looking to have conversations with anyone, this is a great resource. Whether you are a caretaker or just a great community member, facilitating these conversations can be made a little less daunting with support. Thats what we want to provide https://cssdp.org/sensiblecannabistoolkit/
