Congratulations to Grey Roots Museum and Archives on their OMA award. Facing the Flames was such a rewarding project to be a part of. The exhibit is still up so go and check it out!
Thanks to the new owners of The Rocking Horse Owen Sound for asking me to help design their new sign at their new location. Thanks also to HAVE1.COM for taking the design and turning it into an awesome three-dimensional masterpiece. Go and check out their new digs at 856 2nd Ave. East, just across the street from their previous location.
The skies have been amazing the last couple nights. We've witnessed the Northern Lights, Neowise, meteors, a satellite flare, The Milky Way, Jupiter and Saturn. If you feel inclined to share, please do.
I'm sure these will be the last of the photos of NEOWISE. It is starting to fade. With a sunset like tonight, I couldn't resist a couple more, so I went to a nearby lake to get a few more shots. If you really like them, please share.
A couple more photos of NEOWISE photo-bombed by Bob and Doug or the ISS, I'm not sure. It was definitely brighter to the eye when it was in the NE for me, just because of the light pollution to my NW, but still great to see from the backyard.
It's been a while since I've posted here but this photo felt warranted. If you've never seen a comet, then set your alarm for 3:45am and find an unobstructed NE view. You are welcome to come to our house. I've been wanting to do this for a few nights now, but I was just too tired. I'm so glad I got up last night. I stepped out our front door, looked left and could see it right away. This is Comet NEOWISE.
If you are looking for something to read, April MOSAIC (as well as all other past issues) has been posted online for your perusal. Some of the advertised events are cancelled or postponed, but there are still a lot of great articles to read to stay connected with your local community. Check it out. http://www.greybrucemosaic.ca///files/April2020_MOSAIC.pdf
I haven’t posted much on FB because it’s been a busy year. I am thankful for that business and am looking forward to a busy 2020. Let’s not hibernate this winter. Stop over and help me shovel.
Big thanks to Grey Roots for including me at the opening ceremony of their newest exhibit Facing the Flames: The History of Firefighting in Grey County. It was great to see my work on the walls. Stop in to check out the exhibit and pay your respects to all of our firefighters past and present. The exhibit runs until May.
Stop by Grey Roots this fall-spring and check out their latest exhibit. It was great to learn so much about our local fire departments while working on this exhibit. Don't miss it.
I’m very grateful to be a part of this project and so proud of Bonita for her commitment to document such important stories. Pick up your copy at The Ginger Press.
It was a great opening night at Lookup Theatres Circus in Neverland last night at the Roxy Theatre Owen Sound. There are two more shows today. 2 pm and 7 pm. Call the box office for tickets. 519-371-2833 It's a show that the whole family will enjoy.
The latest book published by Ginger Press Bookshop and Cafe, Leave Us In Peace by Marty Elkins, will be launched on November 9. Stop by to say hi and pick up a book for someone on your Christmas list or treat yourself to a timely read for Remembrance Day.
