Is it stress, worry, anxiety or is it just 2020? There will always be stressors in our lives, however there are strategies that we can use to better manage what life presents us. Here is a very simple exercise that even kids can use to deescalate the uncomfortable symptoms of stress and anxiety. I encourage you to give it a try.

To those who feel comfortable returning to in-person sessions, I am pleased to welcome you back! I will be starting to meet with clients in my office on Mondays and Wednesdays only. I am continuing to offer Zoom sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to those who prefer them. I am implementing the following protocols for all in-person sessions.... I ASK THAT ALL CLIENTS PLEASE: Come to your appointment solo Wait in your car until I call you for your appointment Bring and wear a face mask in waiting room (not necessary for session as long as physical distancing is respected) Immediately use hand sanitizer once you enter clinic Proceed directly to Counsellors office I AM DOING THE FOLLOWING: Increasing time between appointments to control traffic Thorough disinfecting of office and waiting room Washing my hands with hand sanitizer between clients Replacing chair covering after each client Maintaining adequate physical distancing in my office during counselling sessions Wearing a mask when necessary and if requested All clients will be screened for covid prior to counselling sessions It is difficult to wear a face mask during counselling sessions, therefore I will be maintaining adequate physical distancing within my office. Thank you to all my clients in advance for respecting the above safety protocols. I realize this is a challenging time and our counselling sessions must adapt to the current realities of Covid-19. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact me.
To all my friends and colleagues working in Long Term Care. Thank you.

Controlling what we can is where we find our power.
To all my friends and colleagues working in Long Term Care. Thank you.
Hello Friends, Given the current situation we are experiencing with the COVID-19 virus, I have made the decision to stop in-person sessions until further notice. I do however remain committed to meeting the needs and supporting my existing clients as well as new ones. I will now offer sessions via Zoom video call, telephone as well as email.... These are difficult times for many of us and the world seems to be changing on an hourly basis. It is understandable and normal to feel fear and anxiety. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss how we can work together to meet your needs. Warmly, Shelley Read
