My goal for working with clients experiencing back spasms.... Reflexology allows your back to receive the benefit of tension release without being directly touched. By working on reflexes that help lower the pain and intensity of the back spasms, the client may be able to: 1. Get to a massage therapist or chiropractor sooner to alleviate the underlying problem in the spine. 2. For those needing a diagnosis, they are then better able to tolerate all the movement of goin...g for x-rays or other testing. For people with a recurring and diagnosed back problems, who know how to avoid aggravating factors and re-injury as well as have a good sense of caution and patience, a misplaced vertebra may slip back into place on its own once the muscles lose the tension. Therefore, the reflexology is enough. However, for those that are concerned, a skilled massage therapist or chiropractor can help the process of healing come about a little faster. Some folks will require a diagnosis before going to a manual practitioner so they can be worked upon appropriately. That is why we need a wide variety of sources for health problems. Every modality has a place in the field of healthcare.

Regarding the post I just made about the client with back spasms. After getting two recommendations from friends to come and see me, this new client emailed and asked about getting an appointment as soon as I was available. I called her and saw her the next day. That was yesterday. It was a 30 minute appointment. At the end of that appointment her husband had to put her socks and shoes on for her. While he did that she had 3 or 4 back spasms. Today she came in for the seco...nd 30 minute appointment. She said she was feeling considerably better. The spasms were not as intense. She took off her own shoes. At the end of the appointment she put on her own shoes without any spasms. We are doing another 30 minute appointment tomorrow. I have gained some insight regarding this form of pain by helping a family member who suffers from the same problem occasionally. It is such an honour to help someone through a difficult experience which this has been. This is why I LOVE WHAT I DO!!!!
